Yangon will celebrate the five-day Thadingyut light festival downtown at Maha Bandoola Park to mark the end of the four-month rain-retreat.
The festival will be held from 10 to 14 October, with lights projecting 30 prominent icons, including the traditional Shan long drum, owl, and rabbit.
Besides, well-wishers will donate food to 30,000 people on 13 October, the Fullmoon of Thadingyut.
Artistes will perform at night during the festival.
The Yangon City Development Committee office downtown will also be lit up, with the lights depicting the YCDC and dolls.— Htin Paw Win (Kamayut)
