Villagers get 9.74 tons of firewood from natural forests

Forests are playing a key role in environmental conservation and create a good weather for the human.
Hills and plains covered with thick forests can balance weather conditions. Barren hills cannot help conserve environment. That is why all the people should abide by rules set by  local authorities for environmental conservation.
Indiscriminate production of firewood will cause deforestation. In consequence, the areas with lack of forests and cannot receive fine weather and environment.
Dry Zone Greening Department under the Ministry of Environmental Conservation and Forestry is striving for greening all areas in the dry zone by growing and nurturing plants as reforestation.
Staff Officer U Aung Soe Tint of Yinmabin Township Dry Zone Greening Department and staff distributed firewoods to local people in Minzu Village on 28 March.
The staff presented 9.74 tons of firewood to 30 households free of charge.
The firewood were extracted from 1,000 acres of natural forest in Powintaung forest reserve in Yinmabin Township in 2014-15 fiscal year.–Tun Ko Ko (Yinmabin)
