Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Ohn Win received a delegation led by Dr Christy Williams, Director of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), at his ministry in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
During the meeting, they discussed matters related to selecting site for establishing a wildlife conservation school in North Zarmari Wildlife Sanctuary in Bago Region, design and curriculum preparation and choosing lecturers, plans for constructing the school, and achievements in reducing illegal poaching of wild elephants and ongoing tasks.
They also exchanged views on opportunities for presentation of framework for environmental conservation, and policy, strategy and plans for climate change, technical assistances on construction of roads for long-term durability, cooperative programmes for eliminating illegal wildlife trade, and signing a five-year MoU extension. —MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
