Union Minister for International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin received Ms. Pramila Patten, Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw at 2:00 pm on 7 February 2019.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on the matters pertaining to the implementation of the Joint Communique which was signed between the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the United Nations to prevent conflict-related sexual violence and the provision of technical assistance and advice by the United Nations in drawing up a national action plan to address the issue.
Also present at the meeting were officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Knut Ostby, UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator a.i.
Similarly, U Kyaw Tin, Union Minister for International Cooperation received Mr. Ben King, Deputy Secretary of Asia and Americas Group of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand on 7 February 2019 at 3:30 pm at the Ministry of International Cooperation, Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, they discussed matters relating to the enhancement of bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation in Agriculture and Livestock, Renewable Energy and Human Resources Development sectors, continued provision of constructive assistance in Myanmar’s democratic transition process and situation in Rakhine State.
