Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye welcomed the members of International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) from the Republic of Korea at his office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
The IWPG has opened its offices in over 100 countries, including Myanmar in 2013.
At the meeting, they discussed possible cooperation with the Myanmar National Committee for Women’s Affairs, implementation of the National Strategic Plan for the Advancement of Women (2013-2022), issues on women, peace and security, conducting peace education to promote the role of women in peace-making processes, possible ways of Myanmar women for a side event at the 2020 edition of UN Commission on the Status of Women, which will be held in New York, the United States, in March this year. —MNA (Translated by Aung Khin)
