Trade exceeds $9 bln in first three months of 2019-2020FY

In the first three months of this fiscal year, which started in October, Myanmar’s total trade with foreign countries stood at US$9.75 billion.
The country’s exports were registered at $4.76 billion, with normal exports pegged at $2.72 billion and border exports amounting to $2.04 billion.
For the same period, Myanmar’s imports stood at $4.99 billion, with normal imports totaling $4.17 billion and border imports reaching $817.33 million.Myanmar’s trade deficit was valued at $228.12 million for the October-December period, according to the Central Statistical Organization. In the month of December in the 2019-2020 financial year, Myanmar’s exports were registered at $1.43 billion, with normal exports valued at $870.72 million and border exports pegged at $561.17 million.
During the same period, Myanmar’s imports reached $1.892 billion, with normal imports valued at $1.6 billion and border imports estimated at $291.59 million. The total trade volume for December was $3.32 billion, with the trade deficit touching $460.75 million. – MNA (Translated by TTN)
