The infrastructure development is required to the advancement of economic zones. The road extension project was undertaken with the help of Japan JICA ODA Loan. Technical transfers were received from the Japanese contractors as they constructed the road by using high technologies. Therefore, it is necessary to take an exemplary road of international standards for the roads to be constructed in the future. Thanlyin becomes economically strong as the transportation of goods is in 24-hour operation along the Thanlyin-Thilawa Road and thereby it can enhance the development of its neighbouring towns like Kyauktan, Khayan, and Thonegwa as well as Yangon.
He called for the local people to maintain and sustain the road. He concluded the event by expressing thanks to the JICA, the Ministry of Construction, both Japanese and Myanmar companies, relevant ministries, the Yangon City Development Committee and local residents.
