SWRR ministry provides aid to schools for the blind

The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement is implementing action plans for the inclusiveness of people living with disabilities in awareness campaigns and support provided during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In that regard, the ministry has been supplying 13 private schools for the blind with a total of 658 students at a rate of K30,000 per person in addition to basic foodstuffs and hygiene products. On 25 May, the ministry provided K1,500,000 for 50 students at a school for the blind in Myitkyina, Kachin State, and K7,500,000 for 250 students from four schools in Yangon Region on 26 May. The ministry provided K2,970,000 for 99 students from three schools for the blind in Yamethin and Meiktila, Mandalay Region, yesterday and will continue donations for two schools in Sagaing Region, a school in Magway Region, four schools in Mandalay Region, and a school in Shan State (South) in the near future.—MNA (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
