State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who was in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China (PRC), met separately with the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Mr. Jean Yves Le Drian and the Russian Federation President Mr. Vladimir Putin yesterday afternoon.
State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi met with the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs at the Shangri-la Hotel. At the meeting, increasing Myanmar-France bilateral relations and cooperation, continuing French support for Myanmar’s successful transition towards democracy, increasing bilateral trade and investment, increasing cooperation in energy and culture sectors and status of progress in Rakhine State affairs were cordially and openly discussed.
The meeting was attended by Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Thant Sin Maung, Union Minister for Electric and Energy U Win Khaing, Union Minister for International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin, Deputy Minister for Commerce U Aung Htoo,Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Sett Aung and officials

State Counsellor, Russian President hold talks
Next, State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi met with Russian Federation President Mr. Vladimir Putin at the Diaoyutai State Guest House in Beijing.
Matters relating to increasing Russia-Myanmar bilateral relations and cooperation; increasing bilateral trade and investment; increasing contact and relations through the commission formed for government to government; cooperation in communications, air transport, ICT sectors and increasing cooperation in education, health, industry, energy, oil and gas sectors were discussed. Also present at the meeting were Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Thant Sin Maung, Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Win Khaing and Union Minister for International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin, Deputy Minister for Commerce U Aung Htoo, Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Sett Aung and officials. — MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
