The Dry Zone Greening Department, under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, has distributed free seedlings to the residents of Koneywar village, Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region for plantation, as part of a program with the aim of reducing the destruction of the ecological system and the impact of climate change and global warming.
“Currently, the Township Department is working to preserve the forest from natural disasters, maintain the ecological balance, and fulfill basic needs. In addition, the Dry Zone Greening Department is conducting a firewood plantation drive for local people annually,” said U Nay Myo Tun, the head of the Yinmabin Township Dry Zone Greening Department.
