Second coordination meeting held for FIFA Football for Schools Programme

The Ministry of Health and Sports, the Ministry of Education, and the Myanmar Football Federation on Sunday held the second coordination meeting on organizing the FIFA Football for Schools Programme this month at the Novotel Max Yangon.
At the meeting, President of the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) U Zaw Zaw explained the plan for launching the FIFA Football for Schools Programme on 31 January and said the producers are cooperating with ministries to increase opportunities for playing football in all states and regions.
He also promised to help students, teachers, physical training coaches, referees, and match supervisors with techniques.
The MFF president also called for provision of stadiums and facilities and for cooperation with parents and town elders, local officials, and TFAs.
Afterwards, Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr Myint Htwe said his ministry would cooperate with MoE and MFF to develop youth footballers’ skills over the long run.
Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Gyi also said the Education Ministry is cooperating with MFF for youth football competitions. The ministry is drawing football timetables and will also a draw budget plan, he said while calling for capacity building.
The FIFA Football For Schools Programme, designed by FIFA for Myanmar, will be launched on 31 January at the artificial turf of the National Football Academy in Yangon, according to the Myanmar Football Federation. — Kyaw Khin
