PRC Donates H1N1 vaccines, medical equipment to Myanmar

A ceremony for donating H1N1 vaccines and related medical equipment to Myanmar from the People’s Republic of China was held at the Yangon International Airport’s Special Guest Lounge yesterday morning.
At the ceremony, the document allowing the handover of H1N1 vaccines and equipment — disease protection suits, ventilators and breathing machines worth of US$ 3.7 million — was signed by the Chinese ambassador to Myanmar and the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Health and Sports. Present at the ceremony were H.E.Mr Hong Liang, the Chinese ambassador to Myanmar, Mr Xia Guanxiang, the consul of commerce, responsible officials from the embassy of PRC in Myanmar, Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Health and Sports and responsible personnel. The H1N1 vaccines and related medical equipment donated by the People’s Republic of China arrived at Yangon International Airport yesterday by the chartered plane, it was learnt.
