Peace cycling event to mark 73rd Union Day kicks off in Nay Pyi Taw

A peace cycling event to mark 73rd Union Day kicked off at the Gate 1 of Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw at 6 am yesterday.
The event was jointly organized by Sports and Physical Education Department of Ministry of Health and Sports and Myanmar Cycling Federation.
Deputy Minister for Health and Sports Dr Mya Lay Sein opened the event by firing a gun.
A total of 153 cyclists took part in the event that began from the Gate 1 of Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw on 10 February and ends at the Panglong Union Monument on 12 February (Union Day).
The cyclists rode along Yangon-Mandalay old road through Tatkon, Yamethin and Pyawbwe on 10 February, and took rest at night in Meiktila. They will ride through Meiktila, Kalaw, Aungban and Heho to Taunggyi where they will take rest at night on 11 February.
They will ride to the Panglong Union Monument through Taunggyi and Hopong on 12 February. — MNA  (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
