AUTHORITIES seized 1,850,000 stimulant pills on Monday night at 11:30 p.m in Hsenwi Town, Lashio District in northern Shan State.
Operating at Muse-Lashio Pyidaungsu Road, a combined team of officers from the township police station and anti-narcotic drug squad detained and searched Land Cruiser UZI-100 being driven by Myo Aung (aka) Eike Pee, 33, and included a passenger, Ko Yan San, 50, en-route from Kutkai to Lashio.
The team discovered the tablets, weighing 166.5 kg, inside a bag. The tablets were valued at K2,000 per pill, or over K3.7 billion. While the vehicle was searched, suspect Ko Yan San fled the scene.
Action is being taken against the two suspects, Myo Aung and Ko Yan San, under Section 19(A), 20(A) and 21(A) of the Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substance Law by Hsenwi Township Police Station. — IPRD
