New War Nat elephant resort camp to be opened near Mandalay

New War Nat elephant resort will be opened near Mandalay at the end of March in order to develop tourism industry, said U Htay Aung, the Manager of the Myanmar Timber Enterprise (Mandalay Region).
The elephant camp will be opened five miles and three furlongs on Ye Ywar road in Pyin Oo Lwin, Mandalay Region. There will be two elephant camps in Mandalay Region after opening the new elephant camp,” he added.
The recent Dee Doke elephant camp is opened near Three-Step falls, nine miles and three furlongs from Kyauk Chaw-Ye Ywar road in Pyin Oo Lwin.
“The new elephant camp will keep six elephants in the camp. Now, the buildings are being constructed in the camp. We are also decorating too many things for the elephant camp. Now, everything is fine and we planned to open the elephant camp the end of March,” he added
The services elephant are only 15-year old elephants. They are considered tame. The elephant camp has the creel. Therefore, the authority will make arrangement for the visitors to pay with the water.
“The six elephants are from the Katha and will arrive at the end of this month. On riding elephants, safe and secure services will be given. The camp will provide riding elephant for half hours,” he added. Fees for riding elephants are designated at Ks 3,000 plus the entrance fee of Ks1,000 for Myanmar citizens, while Ks20,000 plus the entrance fee of Ks2000 have been designated for foreign travellers.—Khine Set Wai
