New Airbus plane joins MAI fleet

A new Airbus A319-100 aircraft has joined the fleet of Myanmar Airways International (MAI) after flying from Phoenix, USA, and landing at Yangon International Airport yesterday.
The Airbus, full classification A319-100, MSN-5193, XY-ALK, was welcomed with a water salute at the airport by MAI’s Board of Operations Management Chairman U Aung Aung Zaw and officials while the MAI veteran pilot who flew the plane from Phoenix was greeted by MAI flight attendants with flower wreaths.
With the addition of the new plane, MAI’s current fleet consists of five Airbus A319s and an A-320, while four A320-214s and two Embraer 190s are expected to join in the future.
MAI is known for operating on the highest safety standards and will soon operate partner airline MAI Domestic Routes with AIR KBZ in the near future. —Poe Thaw Zin  (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
