Myanmar to play against Bangladesh in Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Asian Qualifier

Myanmar national women’s football squad is going to play its debut against Bangladesh in the Asian first round qualification of Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Tokyo 2020 at Thuwunna Stadium on 8 November.
As part of preparations for taking part in the Asian first round qualification of Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Tokyo 2020, Myanmar women’s squad went on a friendly tour to Mandalay from 18 to 27 October.
During the friendly tour, Myanmar women’s demonstrated five test matches against Aungmyaythasan team, Mandalay regional coaches team, Marn youth team (A), Marn youth team (B) and Lucky Home team. Myanmar women’s saw four wins in the first four matches and a loss to the last one.
Myanmar women’s squad played a total of 9 test matches with seven wins, one draw and one loss. Now Myanmar women’s squad is in the training in Yangon. Myanmar will have to host the Asian first round qualification of Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Tokyo 2020 at Thuwunna Stadium from 8 to 13 November.
Myanmar women’s squad is in the same group together with Bangladesh, Nepal and India. Myanmar will play against Bangladesh on 8 November, Nepal on 11 November and India on 13 November. —Htut Htut (Twantay)
