A total of 84 migrant workers including 68 men, 12 women and 4 children were repatriated by the officials from the Ranong Immigration Department through Kawthoung border gate on Wednesday evening.
The Thai government handed over those workers to Myanmar after taking some penalties and actions against those workers under the Thailand law due to the expired visa and lack of proper documents.
The officials from the General Administration Department, Labour, Immigration and Population Department, Anti-Trafficking in Persons Police Force, Labour Department and Disaster Management Department received the workers and provided the necessary health care services. The officials from the related department sent back those migrant workers to their native towns. — Kyaw Soe (Kawthoung)
