The project was implemented to supply electricity to households in Sanpya Village. For the project, K7.56 lakh was spent from the Rural Development Department funds.
The 5KV micro hydropower generators can supply 24-hour electricity to 23 households in Sanpya village. Although 3KV micro hydropower generators were installed earlier on a self-help basis, not all households in the village had access to electricity.
“We want to express our heartfelt thanks to the government department for providing the funds to implement the hydropower project to enable 24-hour access to electricity to each household in Sanpya Village,” said U Bar Man, the head of Sanpya Village. —Sa Nay Maung (Khamti)
