MFF seeks to create new generation referees

With the aim of raising a new generation of referees, Myanmar Football Federation is seeking to open new referee courses in states and regions in Myanmar, according to the federation statement.
MFF is aiming to host 30 courses, with 24 being launched in Yangon and another six courses will be held in towns and cities throughout Myanmar.
The MFF is also arranging to contact the Asian Football Confederation so Myanmar might send new referees to attend the AFC Referee Academy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. MFF hopes to send two men and one woman referee to the AFC Referee Academy in Malaysia in November.
Currently, Myanmar’s youth referee U Phyo Htet Aung is attending the Academy, and he will next referee the AFC football matches and FIFA matches, the MFF stated. MFF is now seeking referees under 35 years. Interested persons can contact the Referee Department of the MFF in Yangon for further information.
Currently, Myanmar has 16 FIFA recognized referees, including four men, three women and nine assistant referees.
Myanmar has the second most FIFA referees in South East Asian and Thailand, having 19 FIFA referees, which is also the highest number in ASEAN countries.—Lynn Thit (Tgi)
