Two men have been charged in connection with dealing drugs in Pinlebu Township, Katha District, Sagaing Region, on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, an anti-drug squad raided a home owned by Maung Naing, alias Aung Naing Oo, in Aunggon Village, Kathaw Village-tract, on 7 April.
The police found some 27,800 yaba tablets, worth Ks139 million, hidden in the ground.
After seizing the drugs, the police immediately arrested the owner of the house and a drug smuggler named Aung Aung.
The two suspects have been charged under sections 15/1, 9 (a) and 21 of the existing Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
The township police are carrying out further investigations to apprehend others involved in the case.
