A ceremony to hand over fire trucks, water bowsers and rescue equipment to townships was held at the city hall in Loikaw, Kayah State, on Monday morning.
On the occasion, Kayah state Chief Minister U Khin Maung Oo urged local peoples to cooperate with a fire brigade in taking fire preventive measures.
State Minister of Security and Border Affairs Col Zaw Myo Tin handed over documents related to fire trucks to deputy commissioners of Loikaw and Bawlakhe districts. Chairman of Kayah State Fire Prevention Committee State Minister U Koe Rei made a speech.
The chief minister and party viewed drill of fire trucks and water bowsers. Kayah State government spent K753.53 million on purchase of eight fire trucks, eight water bowsers, fire extinguishers and rescue equipment, Head of Kayah State Fire Services Department U Saw Tun told media.
