Introduction of new services for business persons

An event to introduce new services for business persons was held at Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) in Yangon yesterday morning.
The launching event of the Employers Organization Department and Employers Service Suite was attended by Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Sett Aung, UMFCCI President U Zaw Min Win, local and foreign business persons, officials from embassies and officials from workers organizations.
At the event an executive director and a deputy executive director from Singapore and Malaysia, UMFCCI Joint Secretary General Daw KhineKhineNwe, officials from UMFCCI, officials from Singapore and Malaysia business owners association and officials from ILO Myanmar and Bangkok offices discussed subjects under the titles business owner associations in Singapore and Malaysia, services from Myanmar and international businesses, occupational safety and health and Key Persons in establishing a good worksite relationship.
UMFCCI Secretary General U Aung Kyi Soe said today’s event was to inform about study courses and paper reading sessions as well as increasing productivity, employer-employee relation, norms to follow and establishing networks.”
He added that the event was held to establish a firm industrial relation system, good international practices for businesses, relevant workers laws and create an interesting market in Myanmar for foreign investment.
UMFCCI Joint Secretary General Daw KhineKhineNwe said, “For this department to develop further business owners need to know more about laws practiced internationally on resolving issues rising between employees and employers.
The assistance of ILO was obtained in this. Experts from each sector and a committee formed will conduct researches and field studies to listen to businesses owners and based on this training courses will be conducted.”
Business owners department will provide necessary supports to conduct training courses, provide recommendations and share news and information to create worksites where enacted labour laws were complied with and have a best workforce. — Myat Sandi (Translated by Zaw Min)
