Grab launches new application for booking hotels

Grab, the leading ‘super-app’ in Myanmar and Southeast Asia, has launched a new service named Hotels, which allows to directly book hotels and other accommodations from Agoda and on the app, from today.
The new service has been rolled out before the Christmas and New Year holidays so users can compare prices across more than 2 million places to stay, ranging from luxury and budget hotels to apartments and vacation homes.
“Most of the Myanmar people love to travel domestically or internationally. Those services are the best for working people who travel frequently on holidays, or families looking for the best deals.
With the Hotels service, Grab users can search for the best-quality hotels within their budget on the world’s top hotel booking sites, and they can get more value with exclusive discounts available only to them,” said Cindy Toh, country head, Grab Myanmar.
“Our Hotels’ service adds to the multiple benefits we already offer to travelers in Myanmar. This includes Grab Taxi for haggle-free trips around town and our recently launched Premium Rentals service for hourly use to explore all that Yangon has to offer,” she added.
Grab users in Yangon, Mandalay, and Bagan will be able to see the ‘Hotels’ tile on the App’s home screen starting today. After tapping on it, users will have the option of creating or logging in to their Agoda and accounts.
They can then browse the selection of hotel listings on Agoda and and book their hotel stays without having to leave the Grab app. Users will receive an email directly from the booking partner once the booking is completed.
In October, 2018, Booking Holdings and Grab announced their strategic partnership to offer on-demand transport services through their apps, allowing Grab users to book accommodations across the globe through and Agoda.
Through this collaboration, the world’s largest online travel platform and Southeast Asia’s leading online-to-offline (O2O) mobile platform aim to broaden and simplify travel solutions for travelers in Southeast Asia and beyond.
In addition, Booking Holdings has invested US$200 million in Grab, recognizing Grab as the leading O2O mobile platform in Southeast Asia, according to a press statement from Grab.—GNLM
