Nay Pyi Taw hosted a rock and bike festival from 29 November to 1 December, which attracted about 3,000 motorcyclists and prominent rockers.
The first Nay Pyi Taw Bike Week 2019 ended at the Water Fountain Garden with a concert by the Great Empire Music Band and rockers.
In the evening yesterday, the last day of the festival, prominent vocalists Zaw Win Htut, R Zar Ni, Wai La, and Thar Di Lu gave performances at the Water Fountain Garden.
Among the visitors at the festival were Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman Dr. Myo Aung and wife, Hluttaw representatives, members of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, members of the Nay Pyi Taw Development Affairs Committee and their wives.
“This event is a gathering of motorcycle lovers from motorcycle clubs across the country. About 3,000 motorcyclists from over 100 motorcycle clubs participated in the festival. The profits of the festival will be donated to philanthropic schools,” said Ko Paing Gyi, from Joker Biker MC based in Nay Pyi Taw.
“It would be great if the authorities invite motorcycle clubs from foreign countries to future festivals because the country can earn foreign income from the festival,” he added.
The First Nay Pyi Taw Bike Week 2019 commenced on 30 November at the entrance of the Water Fountain Garden. It was formally opened by Dr Myo Aung and members of the Nay Pyi Taw Council and the Nay Pyi Taw Development Affairs Committee. The motorcyclists rode from Zabuthiri and Ottarathiri townships and ended at the Water Fountain Garden. Motorcycle parts and souvenirs were also sold to the public during the festival. —Han Lynn Naing (Translated by Kyaw Zin Lin)
