Dr Tun Shin, Attorney-General of the Union, addressed the 54th Annual Session of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) in Beijing, China, on 13 April, officials said.
In his speech, the attorney general said his country has been on a march to democracy since the
State Constitution shaped the three pillars of
legislative, executive and judicial powers.
Myanmar endorses and exercises the arbitration rules of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law and the New York Convention, with the enactment of laws on international cooperation against money laundering and terrorism.
At the meeting, Myanmar legal experts read out research papers on a legal course of action against extremism and terrorism and the role of UNCITRAL in investment contracts included in the subject of international trade law.
The Bandung Conference in 1955 gave birth to the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO), with Myanmar, a founding member, attending the conference annually. With its secretariat in New Delhi, India, the organization has 47 member countries.
