Deputy Minister of Information U Aung Hla Tun separately received John Reed, South-East Asia correspondent of the London-based the FINANCIAL TIMES newspaper, and Yangon-based Mizzima TV team at the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw at 10 am and 11 am respectively on Tuesday.
At the meeting with the FINANCIAL TIMES, the Deputy Minister explained opportunity for writing economic stories in Myanmar and cordially discussed the assistance the Ministry can offer in applying for journalist visas to write economic news. At the exclusive interview with the Mizzima TV, the Deputy Minister answered questions about the activities of the Information Ministry for media development, improving access to information and press freedom in the country.—Myanmar News Agency
