Bullets prove one man’s trash, another man’s treasure

Acting on tip-off, members of the Hlaingthayar Myoma Police Station found a cache of bullets under a rubbish tip in the Hteinpin Cemetery compound in Hlaingthayar Township on April 18. After examination of witnesses, police discovered that a worker of Environmental Conservation and Cleaning Department under the Yangon City Development Committee first found the bullets under a heap of rubbish at the site.  The police reported the case to the No. 532 Light Infantry Regiment which conducted checks on the ammunition. According to the confirmation of the No. 532 Light Infantry Regiment, the bullets were 40 bullets of 7.62 G3, 2 of 7.62 AK47, 19 of 5.56MA Series, 23 bullets of 5.56M16, 48 bullets of 9MM, 11 bullets of 30 Carbine, 2 cartridges for .303 mm, a 91 hand bomb (without fuse), three fuses for hand bomb, a magazine box for 9mm BA 94 Stin, two carbine magazine boxes, a 5.56 magazine box with a bullet capacity of 35 and a 5.56 magazine box with a bullet capacity of 20.
