The Schedules 1 and 2 of Constitution Assessment Committee held a meeting at the President Office Ministry, here, on Friday.
Chairman of the committee Union Minister U Soe Thane explained handover of authority related to Schedules 1 and 2 of the constitution to the region and state governments for enabling union government to emphasize development tasks.
Vice Chairman Union Minister U Tin Naing Thein said that handover of authority of regions and states are related to Schedules 1 and 2. Organizational setups of the ministries are amended for changing administrative machinery. The president emphasizes handover of authority for investment to regions and states as of coming fiscal year, he said.
Vice Chairman Union Minister U Hla Tun said that the government issued orders to ease some restrictions over authorities of regions and states.
He stressed the need to seek the best way in reviewing Schedules 1 and 2 of the constitution.
Union ministers, deputy ministers and departmental officials reported on amended laws, new laws and revoked laws, duty and functions of Union, regions and states, legislation and sharing of authority in accord with the Schedules 1 and 2 of the constitution.
Union Ministers U Soe Thane, U Tin Naing Thein and U Hla Tun reviewed the discussions of union ministers and reports of region and state governments.
