Authorities alert public on COVID-19 via megaphones

Officials from the Union Government Office, General Administration Department, Ministry of Health and Sports, Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and regional civil society organizations have collaborated to disseminate information and news of COVID-19 in Nay Pyi Taw and the states and regions.
One of these processes involves notifying communities via megaphones about simple guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19, symptoms of COVID-19, urging people to contact health departments if symptoms manifest, how the elderly and people with chronic illnesses are more vulnerable, maintaining a 3-feet distance with other people, using tissues or elbows when sneezing and coughing, how the virus spreads from the hands to the eyes, nose and mouth upon touching the face, the need to wash hands with soap and water or sanitizers with 60 per cent alcohol content, avoiding crowded areas and eating nutritious foods to strengthen the immune system, requesting people returning from abroad to cooperate in quarantining and people with the virus for isolation, notifying the local administrator in case of people returning from abroad, legal repercussions for spreading false information with or without the intention to cause panic, keeping an eye out for news from the Ministry of Health and Sports, and requesting full cooperation from the public.—MNA (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
