Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker honours fallen firefighters in Yamethin

Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Aung Myint honoured fallen firefighters at a ceremony held in the district of Yamethin, Mandalay Region, on 27 March, according to officials.
Two firefighters were killed in action, with the speaker saying that there is no greater pride than risking lives for the country and the people.
The speaker provided financial assistance to the bereaved families in honour of the firefighters.
The speaker also comforted two other firefighters who are receiving medical treatment at hospital, and presented cash and kind to them.
In the afternoon, he honoured outstanding members of the Sangha in Yamathin with certificates of honour and offertories.
On 28 March, he attended the opening of a 16-bed hospital in Nyaungyan, Meiktila, where he inspected the medicine storage room the surgical theatre, the X-ray room, men’s ward, women’s ward and staff housing.
It was also attended by Pyithu Hluttaw representative U Than Soe, Amyotha Hluttaw representative U Htay Maung, departmental officials and chairman of Township development supporting committee.
At the Kotaungpyae monastery in Meiktila, the speaker presented offertories to the presiding Sayadaw and viewed stone slabs inscribed with Buddhist literature.
