Ywama-Hlawka-Thakayta natural gas pipeline begins service

The Ywama-Hlawka-Thakayta natural gas pipeline was put into service Saturday following an opening ceremony.
The gas transmission pipeline is the largest ever built by the Energy Ministry’s Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise, an official said.
The new 30-inch diameter parallel line was built to supplement the old 14-inch Ywama-Hlawka-Thakayta pipeline.
MOGE began construction last October, with the aim of supplying gas to power plants and factories in the region.
The new pipeline passes through seven townships—Insein, Shwepyitha, Mingaladon, Hlegu, East Dagon Myothit, South Dagon Myothit and Dagon Myothit Seikkan.
