A COLLECTIVE handicrafts show was held on 13 February in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region, on Myanmar Children’s Day, showcasing a wide range of handicrafts made from forest products.
“Efforts were made to display our creations during a group handmade show over the last two years. We receive a lot of knowledge, experience and innovative ideas from this event,” said Ko Kwan Kyaw, one of the craft makers from Monywa.
This was the first time Monywa Town hosted the group handmade show, displaying the works of 13 young handicraft makers from different towns, including Yangon, Mandalay, PyinOoLwin, Sagaing, Monywa, Lashio and Rakhine, he added.
The show also aims to inspire the creativity and imagination of children and young people through the creation of handiworks, with the organisers planning to hold similar events in the future.
The show took place at the Kanthaya garden resort in Kagyikwe Ward, Monywa Township, displaying more than 100 types of crafts made of wood, bamboo, fibres, plaster and waste materials.
The show started at 9 a.m. and continued until 5 p.m.
