Yangon electric tramline to open in October

Myanmar’s Ministry of Rail Transportation and trading company West Corporation signed contracts Monday to operate electric tramcars along the Strand Road in Yangon.
The tram route will link the Pansodan downtown area with Htawli intersection in the west by October this year in the first stage. The second stage, to be completed at the end of December, will connect to the Razadirit Street in the east.  Witnessed by Union Minister for Rail Transportation U Than Htay and Vice President of West Corporation Miss Hoshino, the contracts were signed by Managing Director U Thurein Win from Myanma Railways and Director U Soe Win Tun from West Corporation.
