THE Mandalay-based HIV activist group Spectrum used World AIDS Day on Tuesday to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS.
Spectrum gave talks on HIV/AIDS and distributed pamphlets to the public in busy areas, such as the General Hospital, the Railway Station, markets, pagodas and City Hall.
The volunteers of the group, led by Daw Ei Ei Chaw, spoke about how HIV is transmitted, how to prevent infection and the application of ART medicines. She suggested that blood tests be performed before marriage.—Shwe Lin Pyae Sone
