Wooden bridge on Paunglaung Creek damaged in heavy rain

C360_2015-07-28-15-58-02-291Nay Pyi Taw, 29 July — A rural bridge across Paunglaung Creek linking Nyaungbingyi village in Zeyathiri Township and Thanatpinseik village in Pyinmana Township was damaged in heavy rains on 27 July, causing transport difficulties for local people.
“The wooden bridge was built through cash donations of local people,” a local resident said. “We spend about K1.5 million on repairing the bridge yearly. As the bridge was cast adrift due to heavy rains, local people would struggle to rebuild it.”
Local residents and students who relied on the wooden bridge are using boats for transport from one village to another. Maung Kyaik Latt (IPRD)
