Waso robe offering ceremony held in Nay Pyi Taw

THE government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar’s Waso Robe offering ceremony 2016 was held at Sasana Beikman, Upatasanti Pagoda, Nay Pyi Taw, at 9 am on the 12th waxing of Waso, 1378 Myanmar Era.
The chairman Sayadaw of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee (SSMNC) and members attended the ceremony.
State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi paid homage to Buddha in the beikman and offered food, fruits, flowers, water and candle lights.
Next, the State Counsellor and visitors observed nine precepts administered by the chairman sayadaw of SSMNC and listened to the parittas recited by members of the Sangha.
Afterwards, the State Counsellor, Daw Su Su Lwin, the wife of the president, vice president U Myint Swe and his wife, speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw and his wife, the wife of the speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw, the Union Chief Justice,  the Commander-in-Chief of Defence  Services and his wife, the chairman of the constitutional tribunal and his wife, the chairman of Union Election Commission and his wife, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and his wife, the deputy speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw and his wife, the chairman of the Commission for the Assessment of Legal Affairs and Special Issues and his wife, Union Ministers and their wives offered Waso Robes, alms and offertories to the chairman sayadaw of the SSMNC,  members of the SSMNC and other prominent members of the Sangha.
