VP discusses Dawei SEZ with Thai officials

Vice President U Nyan Tun left for Bangkok yesterday to attend a meeting on projects related to the Dawei Special Economic Zone.
The fifth bilateral meeting took place at the St Regis Astor hotel in Bangkok at 2pm, with the two countries discussing initial projects being carried out at the Dawei SEZ, their financial details, Japanese cooperation in the projects and preparatory measures for conducting a meeting of Myanmar, Thailand and Japan.
In the evening, Vice President U Nyan Tun visited the residence of the Myanmar ambassador to Thailand, where he met with the ambassador, the embassy staff and their families.
U Nyan Tun, also the chairman of the Joint Committee for the Implementation of the Dawei Special Economic Zone and its related projects, was accompanied by Union Minister U Aye Myint, Taninthayi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko and other high-ranking officials.
