Voices of members of Myanmar’s China delegation

AAMinister of State for Foreign Affairs
“The two significant achievements of the this trip are: an agreement on making a survey on feasibility for construction of Kunlong Bridge was signed. Another one is, the Chinese government will grant one billion yuan of assistance as a gesture of appreciating the achievements in Myanmar and the bilateral relations.
The cash assistance is agreed to be spent on sectors which can benefit Myanmar people, such as bilateral cooperation in cultural, agricultural and cultural sectors, especially in maintaining the river system.”
U Htein Lwin, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Electric Power and Energy
“The Chinese government has acknowledged the commission we formed for the Myitsone dam project. We also discussed bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, which can bring a quick win for both peoples of the two countries. I believe that this trip is successful and the bilateral friendship will be further strengthened.”
Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Hong Liang
“During the visit, the two leaders of both sides agreed to promote China-Myanmar cooperation and relations and to strengthen the Pauk Phaw friendship. The Chinese government would keep up its support of the peace-making efforts of the Myanmar government and would take a more active and constructive role in the peace-making process in Myanmar. We really believe that the 21st Century Panglong will meet with success.—Myanmar News Agency
