Vision Zero Fund to be supported by Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population

THE Vision Zero Fund which has been brought about due to the efforts of seven industrial countries (G7) will be supported so it may improve workplace safety and implement health reforms in Myanmar, according to U Win Shein, Director-General of  the Factories and General Labour Laws Inspection Department under the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population.
Officials from the fund discussed how they will provide services in each sector concerning workplace safety in Myanmar.
“We will work hard to promote social dialogue and to allow all partners to be able to cooperate effectively. Our department has already achieved progress concerning workplace safety and health law which will enable the formation of a national-level workplace safety organisation” he added.
The conference at which workplace safety and health reforms were discussed was attended by officials from the Vision Zero Fund, the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the the European Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor and the International Labour Organisation
The conference was also attended by Yangon Region Minster for Rakhine Ethnic Affairs U Zaw Aye Maung, Permanent Secretary U Myo Aung from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, ambassadors and officials from labour organisations.
