Vietnamese tourists travel Myanmar in motorcade

Yangon, 27 July — A Vietnamese tourist group taking a motorcade tour in Myanmar for six days arrived in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday, the Ministry of Tourism said.
Marvelous Memory Travels and Tours Co., Ltd in cooperation with the ministry has conducted the motorcade tour comprising 97 Vietnamese tourists in 23 cars. They entered Myanmar via Mae Sot, Thailand, last Friday.
Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Htay Aung welcomed the Vietnamese tourists and spoke to them about adventure and ecotourism in Myanmar, the ministry added.
During a day trip in Nay Pyi Taw, the motorcade visited Ngalike dam, Uppatasanti Pagoda and the Parliament complex.
The Vietnamese motorcade left for Yangon in the evening. After touring Yangon, the motorcade will return to Thailand’s Maesot via Myawady in Myanmar on Wednesday.
According to the ministry, tourists motorcade visited Kyaik-hti-yoe Pagoda first before driving to Bagan on Sunday. Tourist arrivals to Myanmar continue to rise, even in the rainy season. —GNLM
