Nay Pyi Taw, 26 Aug — A welcoming ceremony was held for Vice-Senior General Soe Win at Thai Royal Army Headquarters on 25 August and hosted by the Royal Thai Commander-in-Chief (Army) General Udomdej Sitabutr.
A guard of honour greeted Vice-Senior General Soe Win, before he laid a wreath at General Chulalongkorn’s memorial.
The pair discussed the two armed forces’ close corporation in military affairs, particularly in relation to tackling the illicit drug trade, human trafficking and arms smuggling. They also discussed military exchange training schemes and the ongoing efforts to rehabilitate Myanmar’s flood-affected communities.
Myanmar’s vice-senior general later visited Wat Benchamabophit Dusitvanaram Temple (The Marble Temple) in Bangkok and Ananta Samakhon Throne Hall of Thai Queen Sirikit Institute, where he viewed traditional Thai artwork and architecture.
The vice-senior general discussed military training with his counterparts at the Command and General Staff College of the Royal Thai Armed Forces and Army Training Depot in Bangkok. Myawady
