Vice President visits state high schools in Lashio

Vice President Dr Sai Mauk Kham and Union Minister U Kyaw Hsan visited state high schools in Lashio, northern Shan state, on Tuesday.
During the visits to six high schools, accompanied by deputy ministers and departmental heads, the vice president gave K 5 million to each school for education funds.
Dr Sai Mauk Kham said the government is providing more funds year by year to support the education sector, adding that the local community should inform parliamentarians and local authorities of their needs.
Teachers and school board trustees explained development programmes and areas for which funding is needed.
The vice president said the government’s core objectives in the education sector include supporting teachers and students to promote their qualities. He also urged the teachers to nurture outstanding students for the country.
