Vice President Dr Sai Mauk Kham visits flood-hit areas in Rakhine State

Vice President Dr Sai Mauk Kham provided relief aid Friday to flood victims in An Township, Rakhine State, before traveling to Yangon for a meeting with hospital officials.
While meeting flood victims and officials in An Township, the vice president said work is under way to rebuild roads, bridges and schools damaged in torrential rains as soon as possible with the use of the president’s special fund.
The vice president then heard reports presented by Rakhine State Chief Minister U Maung Maung Ohn before providing aid and solar lamps to flood victims in 35 villages of the township.
On his arrival at Lone village in the township, the Vice President met with flood victims and provided them with relief aid and solar lamps.
The Vice President then flew to Yangon and attended a meeting of the Yangon People’s Hospital renovation and working committees.
After hearing reports on work progress by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Myint Swe and officials, the vice president called for timely completion of renovation works.
He then inspected the main hospital building and five-storey extended building and met with patients and nurses.
