Vice-President Dr Sai Mauk Kham attends first Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Leaders’ Meeting

VICE-President Dr Sai Mauk Kham attended the first Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Leaders’ Meeting held at the International Convention Centre in Sanya, Hainan Province, China yesterday.
The Summit was also attended by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and leaders of Mekong River countries. Present were representatives of Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam.
The Chinese Premier and Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha, who co-chaired the Summit, extended their greetings to all the participants.
During the summit, those present reviewed the progress in Mekong- Lancang cooperation and discussed further bi-lateral development plans.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-President Dr Sai Mauk Kham expressed his support to the cooperation machinery of leaders, ministers, high-ranking officials and working groups of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Leaders’ Meeting, adding that he also support to “principles” which are based on cooperation, equity, coordination, freedom, sharing profits, the United Nations’ Charter and international laws.
The Vice-President visited an exhibition zone of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Summit and attended the opening ceremony of the Summit as well as a joint press conference.—Myanmar News Agency
