FARMERS in Hngetpyawtaw village, Nyaunglebin Township, Bago Region, are now using combine harvesters to farm monsoon paddy. Locals say the shift to mechanised farming reflects a broader trend of moderisation and greater efficiency in recent years.
“In the past we faced shortage of labour for harvesting paddy. This year, with the use of combine harvesters, we have saved money and time,” said a local farmer. He said that farmers can hire combine harvester at K50,000 per acre of paddy in Nyaunglebin Township.
