Union Minister for Information receives Australian, Chinese ambassadors, movie delegation separately

Union Minister for Information Dr. Pe Myint received Ambassador of Australia Ms. Andrea Faulkner, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Mr. Hong Liang and a delegation of Exploring Myanmar Culture & Tourism Organization from the PRC at his office in Nay Pyi Taw separately.
At the meeting with Australian Ambassador Ms. Andrea Faulkner, the two sides discussed possible areas of cooperation in Myanmar, improved conditions in Myanmar during the transition period, efforts for promoting freedom of speech, changing situation in the media world due to technological advances, challenges posted social media and hate speech and the role of the State-run media in Myanmar.
The meeting with Chinese Ambassador Mr. Hong Liang focused on paying visits to China’s movie and media industries and libraries, exchange of visits by media personnel, shooting documentary movies and making a donation of the book “The Governance of China” written by President Xi Jinping to Myanmar.
At the meeting with the delegation of the Exploring Myanmar Culture and Tourism Organization, the two sides discussed matters related to producing a TV series with scenes of cultural heritage and natural beauty and traditional customs of Myanmar.
Also present at the meetings were Deputy Minister U Aung Hla Tun and officials.
