Union Minister for Border Affairs receives Ambassador of India

Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Ye Aung received Ambassador of India to Myanmar Mr. Saurabh Kumar at Ministry of Border Affairs meeting hall yesterday morning.
At the meeting the status of road transport, road/bridge, education, health and agriculture sector development works implemented in Chin State and Naga Self-Administered Zone with India’s annual support of US$ 5 million, future project particulars, outcome result of selecting and training Ministry of Border Affairs personnel in English and subject specific courses under the scholarship program of Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) and status of India’s future works on future requirements in various sectors in Myanmar were openly discussed and views cordially exchanged.
Under the Myanmar-India Friendship Project, an MOU on implementing development project of border area was signed in 28 May 2012 and a total of US$ 25 million was provided at a rate of US$ 5 million per year for the five years it is learnt. — MNA
