Union Minister for Information Dr. Pe Myint met Myanmar Music Association (Central) Chairman U Tin Oo Lay and new executive members in the meeting hall of the association in Natchaung Ward, Tamway Township, Yangon yesterday afternoon.
After U Tin Oo Lay welcomed Dr. Pe Myint with a speech, the Union Minister thanked the members of Myanmar Music Association for helping out in the peace music festivals recently held across the country.
He said the ministry is ready to help in matters relating to literature, music and film and urged them to discuss matters relating to development of the music sector and matters that support international cooperation. The Union Minister added that the ministry will do its best and implored to discuss openly and in detail about copyright matters.
Vice Chairman U Lwin Myint, general secretary U Zaw Htoo Aung and joint secretary (1) U Khin Maung Htoo discussed and explained about forming of work committees, copyrights, and use of music and arts.
Present at the meeting were Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung, Directors General, executive members of the Myanmar Music Association (Central) and officials.
Earlier in the day, Union Minister Dr. Pe Myint met with personnel from Myanmar Radio and Television (Yangon) in Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV) Studio (A) on Pyay Road in Yangon.
At the meeting, the Union Minister urged them to discuss improving the department with modern technology; coordinate and discuss more interesting programmes; share experiences, views, opinions, ideas and difficulties.
The Union Minister added that matters discussed will be coordinated with responsible persons. MRTV Director General U Myint Htway explained actions taken on matters discussed in the past meeting.
