Union Minister Dr. Aung Thu attends harvesting of sugar cane model plot in Nay Pyi Taw

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Aung Thu attended a harvesting ceremony of sugar cane model plot for assuring output of sugar cane held at Nay Pyi Taw Council area Pobbathiri Township, Letha Village-tract on the morning of 31 January.
At the ceremony, officials first explained about stages of harvesting the model plot and Union Minister Dr. Aung Thu observed the harvesting of the model plot and calculation of output. The Union Minister remarked to note the production and requirement of the consumers, data and information supporting the drawing up of future plans for the country and effect of these on the politics and economy and to strive toward accuracy of work sector wise numbers.
During this sugar cane season Nay Pyi Taw, Pobbathiri Township planted 2106 acres earmarked for model sugar cane plots and according to the day’s calculation on harvesting of the sugar cane model plots the output averages 53.17 ton per acre, it is learnt.—MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
